pizza swirls

Hello people,

In class we made pizza swirls.They were  a recipe that ether worked or didn't it was a kinda hard one this time because there was so many things needed for it.While that they turned out really good nice a big with a good amount of ingredients. The teams I was in was great at working we got done in a good enough time.

Pizza Swirls

INGREDIENTS:

50g butter

2 cups flour

1 Tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

¾ -1 cup milk

1 cup grated cheese

½ onion

2 rashers bacon or ham slices.

1 tsp oil

½ cup tomato puree or pasta sauce

1 tsp mixed herbs or chopped parsley


METHOD:

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees° bake or 200 degrees Fan Bake.

  2. Line an oven tray with baking paper

  3. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a medium sized bowl.

  4. Cut butter into small pieces (grated if cold) and rub with your fingertips into the flour mixture  until the mixture looks like large breadcrumbs.

  5. Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and pour in most of the milk.

  6. Mix with a bread and butter knife until the mixture binds together.

  7. Add more milk if necessary and use your hands at the end to help combine the dough into ball shape.

  8. Place dough onto a lightly floured board and roll into a rectangle type shape(35cmx22cm)

  9. Chop the onion and bacon or ham into small pieces and sauté in a small fry pan or saucepan with a tsp of oil.

  10. Spread the tomato puree or sauce over the rolled out dough and arrange the onion and bacon on top.

  11. Sprinkle grated cheese and mixed herbs.

  12. Roll up the rectangle dough with the filling inside.

  13. Cut it into even sized circles about 3 cm in width & place face down on lined oven tray

  14. Bake for 12-15 min until they are golden and smell cooked.

  15. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 min
