The design process

Hello people,

In Home Economics we have been making our final piece of work, We had a stakeholder to test the food we made and then gave us feedback on if it was good or could be better. We needed a shopping list,time management,costing,and recipe. once we picked who we want to have we emailed them to ask what their favorite flavors are and if they have any dietierts.

My group was planning on savory muffin but they didn't fit the thing they had to make like how long they cook how much they make. then we had blueberry mini muffins which we found the perfect one but they were too long to cook so we made them mini and they turned out good.

Blueberry mini muffins recipe

2 cups all purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 salt

3/4 white sugar

1 egg

1 cup milk

1/4 vegetable oil

blueberries

Method 

• Step 1
  Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).

• Step 2
  Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in the center. In a small bowl or 2 cup measuring cup, beat egg with a fork. Stir in milk and oil. Pour all at once into the well in the flour mixture. Mix quickly and lightly with a fork until moistened, but do not beat. The batter will be lumpy. Pour the batter into paper lined muffin pan cups.

• Step 3
  Variations: Blueberry Muffins: Add 1 cup fresh blueberries. Raisin Muffins: Add 1 cup finely chopped raisins. Date Muffins: Add 1 cup finely chopped dates. Cheese Muffins: Fold in 1 cup grated sharp yellow cheese. Bacon Muffins: Fold 1/4 cup crisp cooked bacon, broken into bits.

• Step 4
  Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden.test stakeholder

Mikayla and Hunter asked me if I would taste test a batch of it.

7 - Blueberry cupcakes they made period 4 today.

They were delicious !

All of the cupcakes were easy to remove from the paper cups they were cooked in.

The sponge of the cakes was soft and tasty. Not in any way doughy or overly moist.

Some of the cakes were nice and crunchy on top, while others were just cooked to perfection.

The taste of blueberries was mouth watering, not overpowering, there seemed to be many flavours that added to the appeal of the cupcakes.

The amount of sugar that was used also added to the taste. 

I am not a fan of cakes being too sweet and these cupcakes were super.

I think we worked really well but we did forget the vegetable oil but they still tasted good with the amount we put. we got though the time and had some time at the end

Hello people,

Today's topic is:Being able to be confident when public speaking is an important life skill. If we think it an important life skill.

Yes I agree that being able to be confident when public speaking is an important life skill.I think is because when people need to tell someone something and they don't know the person then they might be scared but if they were confident they would tell them and get it over with. If your able to speak out aloud and not care if your wrong or the stares of people then that can help in job forms. If your doing something with a group and it might be a big one then if you don't like the idea someone has put in then you can tell them that it not something you wanna do putting your thoughts out there.So this is why I think it is an important life skill.

Today's topic is Matariki should be a public holiday.

I agree that Matariki should be a public holiday. All the other days like this are a public holiday so why shouldn't this one. it would give kids joy that there is no school and a day off to relax. If we had a day off then it would be celebrating it. So this is my reason for agreeing on that Matariki should be a public holiday.

In class the topic is english is the most important subject to learn in school.

English is the most important subject to learn in school I don't agree with this because there are other great languages than english. People may not like to learn about it either they may like to do other classes as creating thing in cooking/art/wood or already learnt about it then don't want to re learn it. That is why I  disagree on this. 

Debating

Hello people,

In class we are looking at debating what everything is that we need to know in the video we watched 

Debating it means were some people are stating what they believe on and why then the other person get their chance to state what they want and why.

pros. v.s con

Pros mean proposition, Con means opposition the proposition always starts first and then they will get 5 minutes to state their reason then the other one get 5 minutes.

Proposition-in agreement with what has been said.

Opposition-in disagreement with whatever they are talking about.

Order of debate is following a time they are given. 5 minutes the first and second round then they have 3 to express why they don't like the other idea.

Behaviour reflection

Hello people,

In Today's class we have been working on a behaviour sheet then pick one form each of the columns then post on blog one of what we have done and two we need to work on.

When in class i treat my chromebook with respect not throwing it or taking keys off I know I do this by looking at my gear it still in one piece.

I normally work really well with everyone and i know this by when being put in a group I can talk to people that I don't really know them.

Meeting the deadlines before my work is handed in is one of the easier things to do then after it handed in I don't have to worry about it I know this because of I have all my work before the deadline only two that haven't been in.

Bring my chromebook fully charged to get through the day so I can have it in every class I know this because my chromebook make it until night time.

Remaining focused on my work it also another thing that I have a hard time with When there are alot of thing that are going on around me or someone talking then I normally can never finish. When something happens in another room/outside then I look and forget about my work.

Being early to class is one that I am not able to tick off because I am nearly always late to my classes I could fix this by leaving at the frist bell.

Your name is an important  part of who you are this is the topic that we are writing about it and why we think that this is important to us.

My name is important to me because I know when people are talking to me. There are many people with the same name but if it not spelt the same then you know it you if it on paper or they many put the letter of your last name to make it more clear that it you or the other person with the name.So this is why I think names are important to us.

Game time

Hello people,

In class we are playing games against some of the class mates. to see what interpersonal skill will be used for them. The aim of this is to use a verity of skills then figuring out what ones we use

If I could do the games I wouldn't want to re  do it I had really fun with my group even tho they won most of them it was great to work with them

What IP skill did you show/use today?did you use any warm fuzzes?

The interpersonal skills i used were communication asking if they would spin the spiny thing in twister.I said some warm fuzzes telling good job.

There was a good amount of success  with the group we  all got along very well. Following the rules.We also we were not arguing or exuding people.

I think the we were a level 3/4 in the Helisons behaviour model.We were focused on the game not talking.Paying attentions to what we had to do.

Hello people 

The principle is the most important person in the school this is the topic for today why we agree or why we don't.

I disagree with the Principle is the most important person in the school. There are the broad of trusties. Sure the principle does a have high role in the school but most of his/her rule will come from the bored of trusties. They tell him what to do or if he has a good idea then would need to run it by them. If were in lock down then they would give him some advice. So in all this I think that the bored of trusties are the most person.

Essay

 Hello people,

Today in class we have been writing about people in New Zealand that are inspirational people. I picked Sir Mark Todd he was a really good equestrian he won honours and Olympic awards. We had to get some facts or information that we found interesting and then write an essay on it.

                        Sir Mark Todd

Mark Todd is one of the most skilled equestrians and has won a lot of honour awards. He also has been to the Olympics. He started at a young age and has always loved horses. He joined a horse club. He started around age 10.

Mark Todd has won the 6th cup Olympic games which was held in Tokyo. One of the first New Zealand people to have won. He's got 2 gold medals and 3 bronze medals. All of them are from different events. The horse he had to win was a male horse named Charisma. He got put down after being 30 years old after a shoulder injury in the field from being retired. 

Sir Mark Todd had wanted to be a jockey but after being 6ft 2 ended that dream so he took up Show Jumping. He is really good at show jumping as well as all the other events he did. Sir Mark Todd has done a lot of the sports Dressage, Jumping and Cross Country.He has many different awards for all of his accomplishments and honour awards.

Sir Mark Todd opened his own brand of clothes for sizes for all. There are jumpers, jodhpurs, boots.There are also things to buy for the horse. People have been inspired and some have opened their own small shop and their inspiration was Mark Todd and wanted to be as great as he was.

So In conclusion these are some of the reasons why I think that Sir Mark Todd is an inspiration to New Zealanders.

Hello people,

Today the topic is about Cat are better than Dogs.We are going to be writing about what one we like how are they were they easy to look after.

I think cats are better than dog. They have  some really cool features like their paw pads. And there really cute faces.They also mostly keep themselves entertain and you don't have to worry them or brush them that often. If their and out door cat then it will keep sleeping or play outside then come home for food/water.I had cats and Dogs and the cats is easier to look after you  don't have to walk it for exercise.

So that is why I think cats are better than dogs

 Hello people

Today were doing our do now work today is School uniform should be mandatory.We have to write what we think about it and why.

I think that we should t have to wear it. There boring and uncomfortable and most people before have the  choice of what they want wear. Changing out of it is annoying after a tiring day when people just want to get homes and lay down. some of the girls don't like wearing skirts but the pants are to hot for the day. So with all that I think we should not have to wear uniform.

Hello people

In class were writing about,Elephants are the best animals disagree or agree. we have to  write something about why we don't or do. I finding this on a little bit hard since I don't know much about them.

I don't think that they are but other might in my opinion. People might not like big animals or they might scare the person. Elephants also are cool looking but sometimes they just stand there eating or they sleep. Maybe if elephants did something other than stand/sleep eat would be more watchable.

They get scared by the smallest animals  like a rat.

Week 1 Lesson 1

 Hello people,

In class today we are writing about if school holidays should only be one week. We have to write thing that would convince someone that it should be more. Some reasons why or why it should be one week it up to you one what you think is better

School holidays should be one week long.

I don't agree with this. in my eyes one week will go to fast and wont be able to get anything done. And some people spend time with there loved one that are two far away to go when  school is on or in weekends because it might take to long to get there and back. They might have so much stuff to do on school days maybe  after school actives or before school and they don't have any them to be themselves or are stressed out so much.

When people are have longer they worry less about going back to school and more time to enjoy themselves without the extra week you would have to thing about school thing like do I have uniform.

For the birds

Hello people,

Today in class we are reading a book about something then doing the task that came with the book. For mine it is about birds. In this task I have to tell you some suggestions about how to care and attracting birds. not everyone has the same one some are on animals and other household things.

When around the house there might be some bird houses you might be able to put up in the trees or get a bucket/bird bath and put in a place where the birds will see it and use it.have fruit trees around the place that the birds may like.

Around the neighbourhood in some trees around your area could put bird feed on the ground or get bird feeder.

At school to help birds make sure not to let your litter on the floor and when you see some then pick it up. Ask your teach if your able to put bird feeders or bird house around somewhere there isn't a lot of kids. 

I found this task somewhat easy after got down the first few lines. It was kinda fun reading the book learning fact about the birds.

Learning Story

Hello fellow people and welcome back to my blog.

Today in class we are blogging about our learning story or finishing them off I am blogging about mine because I done it last time we had arts in this subject we were learning about the arts and poems they would be split up so we have even amount of time to be able to do all the work.
At the end of the time we would put all of our work together then put them up in the art place were we have all our work we have one thought out the hole term. we did all of the work off of books

Hurumanu: Poetic arts
Name: Mikayla	Teachers: Bh Ds Ht			Term 2	2020
Reflection: Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:  We did watercolour using blend, salt, drip and splat. When we did the tapa cloth we used ink to add contrast to it. The diamante poem. We had to go off of the book we were reading, The Rakaia Gorge.
What I Learned:   I have learned that the Rakaia Gorge was roamed by the Taniwha. That there are more than one kind of poem and how to do a couple of them. When writing a poem the word doesn't always need to flow together, they should sound like they do, but not always look like it.
My Favourite Part: Was using the water colours and being able to create my own designs on the paper. Writing a diamante poem is something that I have never done in my whole life. I loved being able to use watercolours.
My Next Steps: I need to try harder to be able to weave because I didn't get any of that done. To finish my work faster and not talk and take my time. To make sure that I blog all my work.
CARR Values:  Make a statement below describing how you showed each of our CARR values during this Hurumanu.
Commitment In some of the poems and paintings I got right into it so I am able to get all of it done.		Achievement I got all of my work done in H4 except my weaving. It is more than I would have thought I would do.
Resilience When it gets hard I would say I'm not doing this then I would think that I have two amazing teachers that are willing to help me.		Respect I have treated all the equipment the way I should and the teachers the same way I would want to be treated.
Any other comments I really enjoyed this H4 and I would do it again.

For readying I have been reading a book and then we had a chose in some active and I have chosen make a new cover for the book and this is what came up with this book that i have is really old so it was hard to fine the cover of the book because the people before me that had the book lost the cover. 

To make this poster I used canva.
