Ginger gems

Hello people,

In class we have  made ginger gems they are like little cakes but we had to make them in cupcake tins this was not an easy recipe Miss said it  works or it honest. it seems to be a normal recipe they came out great in my option.


Ginger Gems


2 c Flour

1 t Baking Soda

1 c Caster Sugar

2 t Ground Ginger

2 T Golden Syrup

100 g Butter

2 Eggs

1 c Milk


Method:

  1. Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl

  2. Warm Butter and Golden Syrup together in microwave until

  3. butter has just melted

  4. Remove and allow to cool slightly

  5. Add eggs and milk. Beat well to combine all wet ingredients

  6. Add liquids to dry ingredients and gently mix. Do NOT over mix.

  7. Grease muffin tin with spray oil 

  8. Carefully spoon mixture into prepared muffin tins. Fill about ⅔ full

  9. Bake at 200℃ for 12 - 15 min. These are cooked when a skewer inserted into

  10. the centre comes out clean or the centre springs back when pressed 


I really like the way they came out nice and fluffy with a crisp outside with the right amount of ginger I gave the rest to my friends and they said they tasted really good.
 
the team didn't seem to work great this week we had some problems along the way but after awhile we got over them and the rest of the lesson was really good
